15. 최초의 부부의 탄생
이 오묘한
창조의 질서는, 아담이
홀로 사는 것을
아름답게 여기지 아니하시는 하나님이,
그를 잠들게 하고
갈비뼈를 취하여, 여자로 지어
아담에게 보내니,
이는 내 뼈 중에 뼈요 살 중에 살이니,
남자는 부모를 떠나
아내와 연합하여
두 몸이 한 몸이 되었으니, 나눌 수 없고,
벗었으나 부끄러워하지 아니하나니......

And the Lord God said, It is not good
that the man should be alone:
I will make him an help meet for him

. And the Lord God caused a deep sleep
to fall upon Adam. and he slept,
and he took one of his ribes,
and closed up the flesh instead thereof.
. And the rib, which the Lord God had taken
from man, made he a woman,
and brought her unto the man
. And Adam said, This is bone of my bones.
and flesh of my flesh:
she shall be called Woman,
because she was taken of man.
* Therefor shall a man leave his father and his mother,
and shall cleave unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh.
. And they both naked, the man and his wife,
and were not ashamed.
